The Philadelphia Tornadoes took a 4-1 district win over Winona last week in prep soccer action last week.

Parker Wood scored two goals and Will Wood scored one with assists from Jackson Ward and Connor Long . Mark Hunt scored a goal, assisted by Thomas Dyess. Tucker Abel had three saves.

The Philadelphia girls lost their match to Winona. Zharia Jordan scored a goal for the Lady Tornadoes. Sarah Frazier had three saves.

Philadelphia was to play Pelahatchie on Tuesday.


Choctaw Central

The Choctaw Central girls picked up two soccer victories last week. They took a 9-0 win over Winona for a district win, and then defeated West Point 12-1.

The Lady Warriors improved to 8-0 overall and 2-0 in district competition.

Christy Lewis and Jayna Thomas both scored two goals each in the Lady Warriors’ win over Winona. Crystal Routh, Kayliah Tubby, Sierra Wallace, Tara Willis and Madison Wilson all scored one goal each.

Jayna Ben scored three goals for the Lady Warriors in their win over West Point. Lewis scored two. Raven McMillan, Routh, Jaiden Thomas, Tubby, Jayna Thomas, Wallace and Jasmine McMillan all scored one goal.

The Choctaw Central boys took a 7-0 district win over Winona and a 5-0 victory to West Point. The Warriors entered the week with a 7-1 record.

Adam Joe and Graviel Velasco both scored two goals in the win over Winona. J.B. John, Jaeden Bell and Malakai Charlie both scored one goal.

Joe scored two goals in the West Point game. John, Keyon Roach and Dregan Denson all scored one goal.

Choctaw Central will be back in action January 4 when they visit Forest.


Neshoba Central

The Neshoba Central girls picked up a pair of victories last week in prep soccer action.

The Lady Rockets defeated Jim Hill 9-0 and Morton 9-0. The Neshoba Central boys split two games. The lost 6-0 to Jim Hill and then defeated Morton 3-1.

Neshoba Central has two matches this week. They were to host Louisville on Tuesday and New Hope on Friday.

Rose Coats scored two goals and had two assists in the Lady Rockets’ win over Jim Hill. Casea Cheatham and Alex Bowen both scored two goals. Makaylia Alex scored a goal and was credited with an assist. Mara Shelton had three assists. Mason Daniels and Abby Cumberland both scored a goal.

Alex and Coats both scored two goals for the Lady Rockets in their win over Morton. Shelton, Addison Hobson, Sydney Nickey, Cheatham, Daniels and Cumberland all scored a goal. Lexi Burke was credited with two assists.

Owen Hilyer scored two goals during their win over Morton. Joseph Breazeale added one goal. Clay Sanders had an assist.
