Bids are being sought to repair an out-of-order elevator in the Neshoba County Courthouse, supervisors said on Monday.

County Administrator Benjie Coats said the east side elevator broke down before Christmas due to a controller issue.

"It was put in during the renovation in the mid-1980s," he said. "The parts on it are now out-of-date and unavailable for purchase."

Coats added that since the elevator stopped working the board had received several estimates but now have agreed to advertise for bids.

"We're just getting some hard numbers now," he said.
