Man charged with house burglary

A Philadelphia man has been charged with a burglary at a West Hill Drive home.

Cortez Cole, 19, of 1125 West Ave., was charged with house burglary after breaking and entering into a home on West Hill Drive on Sunday.

He is charged with taking two television sand several clothing items, all of which have been recovered.



Union woman charged with

possession of a controlled substance

A Union woman has been charged with drug possession after a traffic stop on Lewis Avenue.

Wendy Davidson, 20, of Union Square Apartments, was charged with possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop on Lewis Avenue on Saturday.



Neshoba County man arrested

on drug charge at safety checkpoint

A Neshoba County man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance after being stopped at a safety checkpoint last week.

Sidney Bishop, 34, of 17241 Mississippi 19 north, was charged at a checkpoint on Mississippi 21 south in the city of Philadelphia on Tuesday, April 22.



Multiple juveniles charged

with business burglary

Four juveniles have been charged with the theft of several pellet guns from a west Main Street business.

The juveniles are charged with breaking into the business at 7 a.m. on Thursday and taking four "high-end" pellet guns.

Entry was made through a glass door, the authorities said.

All four guns have been recovered.



Information sought on

damage to several structures

Philadelphia police are looking for any information on the person or persons who damaged several portable buildings at a west Main Street business.

The incident was reported on Thursday.

The doors to several portable buildings had been kicked in.

City school bus vandalized

Police are looking for any information pertaining to a city school bus which was damaged recently.

The incident was reported on Thursday, when it was discovered the bus had been vandalized.

A fire extinguisher had been used inside the bus, authorities said.
