Fifth annual Black Rodeo this Saturday

The Neshoba County Coliseum is gearing up for the fifth annual Black Rodeo, sponsored by Justa Cowboy Association and Griffis Motors.
The fun starts at 8 p.m. this Saturday at the Neshoba County Coliseum.
That morning there will be the 5k obesity walk/run.
Proceeds from the walk will go to Boys and Girls Clubs of of Neshoba County and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
Ray Lilley, Events coordinator for the coliseum, said he expects there to be a full house this year.
"It's going to fill the coliseum," he said. "It's a big event. One of the biggest we put on."
The event generally consist of calf roping, bull riding, saddle bronco riding, steer wrestling and much, much more.
Each performance is concluded with the crowning of the Champion Team, pictures with the sponsors & officials and paying of the prize money to the winners.
Teams normally consist of 5 men to a team. The team's entry fee is typically paid back 100 percent to them as prize money.
Advance tickets can be purchased at Sam's Fashion in Meridian, Williams Brothers in Philadelphia, and Parimac Package Store in DeKalb.
Tickets to the rodeo are $17.
The fee for the walk is $10. Kids 12 and under admission is free.
