A high-speed chase ended in the arrest of a Winston County woman after she allegedly wrecked a stolen vehicle Sunday evening, the authorities said.

Margaret Morris, 18,  of Louisville was arrested and charged with felony fleeing, auto theft and multiple traffic violations.

Sheriff Tommy Waddell said the owner of the vehicle noticed someone getting into it and driving off while he had stopped in another vehicle to look over paper work from his job at his residence.

After the vehicle was stolen, the Sheriff’s Department put out a BOLO, “be on the look out”, alert when a deputy stopped a vehicle matching the description of the stolen car.

“The deputy said she drove off as he approached the vehicle and a high speed chase ensued,” Waddell said.

The chase led into the city of Philadelphia where the driver crashed the vehicle and was apprehended on Church Avenue.

Philadelphia Police officers assisted in the chase and apprehension of Morris.

Waddell said she was out on bail for a car theft in Winston County at the time of her arrest. Morris remains in the custody of NCSD.
