A Philadelphia man was indicted by a grand jury for statutory rape of a 13-year-old more than a year ago.

Cedric D. Love, 34, 420 Indian Hospital St., was indicted for statutory rape involving the teen.

The alleged incident occurred on or about Nov. 26, 2016, the indictment charged.

“A forensic interview was done on the victim and the mother filed charges on Love,” Chief of Police Grant Myers said. “The case was presented to the grand jury and Love was indicted this month.”

Love was an acquaintance of the victim, Myers said.

He was released from the Neshoba County Jail after posting a $45,000 bond.
