Authorities are pursuing leads in connection with a drive-by shooting last Wednesday night which injured a Philadelphia man.

The man, shot one time in the upper leg at a residence on A Avenue, was taken by private vehicle to Neshoba County General Hospital and later transferred to a Meridian hospital.

The house and two vehicles were damaged by gunshots in the shooting that occurred at about 10 p.m., the authorities said.

"The victim did not live in the house. There were juveniles in the house at the time of the shooting," said Philadelphia Police Chief Grant Myers said.

A rental car, believed to be used in the shooting, has been recovered, Myers said.

"We are working on a lead at this time," he said.

A reward has been posted through Crime Stoppers at 1-855-485-8477 in connection with the shooting.
