A ServSafe food safety certification class will be held in Philadelphia in the Neshoba County Coliseum multi-purpose room on Jan. 28 and 29. The registration deadline has been extended to Jan. 7.

Mt. Olive Baptist Church

City Republicans will meet at the City Hall in Philadelphia on Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. for the purpose of organizing a city Republican Committee. A mass meeting is being called and all qualified Republican electors who live in the municipality are encouraged to attend this meeting.
The Philadelphia Police Department and the Community Policing Neighborhood Association are asking for your assistance in donations for school supplies for the children of Philadelphia Elementary School. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
Maben Church Revival
Bishop Levell Kelly will be holding a revival at Maben Church of God starting Sunday night Jan. 6 at 5 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday night revival will start at 7 p.m. Bro. Kelly was raised in the Mathiston, Maben area. He is well known throughout the Church of God and is as preacher of preachers, he is retired Church of God pastor. Bishop Kelly now resides in Byron, Ga. Bishop Kelly and Bro. Kerry Collins invites all of you all to come out and be part of this spiritual meeting.
Alan Sibley in concert
Alan Sibley and the Magnolia Ramblers will be playing and singing blue grass gospel on Jan. 6 at 10:30 Sunday morning at Church of God. Don't miss out on this wonderful blue grass music. Church is located on Crowley Dr., Maben.
Intro to Computer Class and Sewing Design Class
An 8-week introduction to computer class is scheduled to begin in Jan. at the Career-Tech (formerly Vo-Tech) Center. 2.5 CEUs will be given for this course. The cost is $75 and tentatively scheduled for Thursday nights from 6-9 p.m. Also classes in Sewing Design will be offered beginning in Jan. from 4-6 p.m. and/or from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday nights. The 2.5 CEU class fee is $75. You may register beginning Jan. 7, Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. or Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. until classes fill or begin. American Legion Post 138
The American Legion Post 138 and Ladies Auxiliary will meet for our first meeting of the New Year on Tuesday night, Jan. 8 at 6:30 p.m. We will have a potluck meal of your favorite dish and deserts.
