A benefit will be held for T.J. Coats and Donald Cotton on Saturday, March 15 at 4 p.m. from Northside Pentecostal Church. Coats' house burned to the ground and he lost everything except a Bible which did not burn. Cotton had a right foot amputation. Stew will be served. There will also be a cake auction. Good gospel singing starts at 6 p.m. with Donald Richardson. This is sponsored by Northside Pentecostal Church and Deemer Pentecostal Church.
Center Hill Baptist Church will hold spring revival on March 16-19 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Speaker will be the Rev. Roy Dabbs.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS EVENT
Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter in Meridian will hold a public awareness event on Thursday, March 20 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Philadelphia-Neshoba County Public Library. Bring your lunch and join us for an informative session to learn about domestic violence and the resources available for your community to support victims and their families. The event is open to the public.
JA of Philadelphia will host a two person scramble golf tournament. JA "Fore! the Kids" golf tournament will be March 29 at Philadelphia Country Club. Registration will start at 8-9 a.m. and tee off at 9 a.m. The entry fee with be $120 a team. Refreshments will be provided. Plaques for flight winners. Friends of the Library
A meeting of "Friends of the Library" will be held at the library on March 20 at 4 p.m. One of items on the agenda will be the book sale coming up in April. All interested persons are invited to attend along with the members of the organization.

Parents, do your children need help with homework? Tutors are available on Mondays at the Booker T. Gym starting Monday, March 17 from 5-6 p.m.
This is for students in grades K-8 in subjects: reading/language arts and math.
Students will be tutored by retires teachers and/or volunteer teachers from our school districts, as well as administrators and parents from within the community.
All parents are responsible for their children getting to and from the gym.

The Knights of Columbus Council #13471 will hold their third annual Saint Patrick's Day party on Saturday, March 15 at Holy Cross Catholic Church featuring authentic Irish food, Irish music, kids games and cake walks at no charge. Food concessions will be available for a small fee. The public is invited.

Lighthouse Church of God invited everyone to their Spring Revival March 17-19. There will be a different speaker each night: Monday night, Bro. Sylvester Hampton of St. Paul Church in Philadelphia; Tuesday night, Bro. Calvin Waddy of Central C.O.G. in Jackson; and Wednesday night, Bro. Antonio Patterson of Kingdom Life Church in Kosciusko. Barbecue Judging School
On Saturday, March 15, the Philadelphia Main Street Association will host a Barbecue Judging Class that will be taught and sanctioned by the Memphis Barbecue Network. This is the organization that sanctions the barbecue contest at the Philadelphia Ham Jam Arts Festival. The cost is $65. Registration applications and instructions can be located at www.mbnbbq.com. Neshoba County Shrine Clubs Annual Barbeque Chicken Plate Sale
On Saturday, April 5 the Neshoba County Shriners will hold their annual barbeque chicken plate sale at Vowell's Marketplace/Fred's/Dirty Cheap Shopping Center. The sale will start at 11 a.m. and will go until 1:30 p.m. The cost this year is the same as it has been for the past several years, only $7 and you will get an entire half of barbeque chicken, slaw, baked beans and roll.
Come on out and help this great organization with its annual fundraiser and enjoy some really good eating. As always the Neshoba County Shrine Club Members thank this wonderful community for its continued support of this fundraising activity.
