ECCC Choral

Department to Host “Father/Daughter Valentine Dance”

 The East Central Community College Choral Department will host a Father/Daughter Valentine Dance Friday, Feb. 9 on the Decatur campus.

The event will feature a Princess Theme for ages five and up and will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Mabry Memorial Cafeteria.

 The cost is $30 per couple and if a father has more than one daughter, it is an additional $5 per child.  Light refreshments will be included.

DRIVE THROUGH CHILI FUNDRAISER

The Boys & Girls Club of Neshoba County will sponsor a Drive-Through Chili Fundraiser on Friday, Jan.  26 at the Neshoba County Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Tickets are $6, which includes bowl of chili, crackers and a bottle of water.  Tickets can be purchased from any BGC board member or parents.

 

MARS HILL OUTREACH MINISTRY

The Mars Hill Outreach Ministry will be open on Saturday Jan. 20  from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. All first time applicants must bring identification, proof of residency and proof of income. The Mars Hill Outreach ministry is a 501(c) (3) non profit organization. SOUTHERN HERITAGE IN CONCERT

 Center Hill Baptist Church will host a gospel singing featuring Southern Heritage on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m.  The church is located at 11291 Highway 486, Philadelphia.  Refreshments will follow service in fellowship hall. Bro. Jerry Bishop is the pastor.   



GOD'S TABERNACLE CHURCH REVIVAL

 Revival will be held at God's Tabernacle Church Sunday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. and Monday through Thursday, Jan. 29 through Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. with different a different speaker each night.  The church is located at 392 Loper St.  Rev. Mark Smith is the pastor.

Linwood Fire Department will have its annual fundraiser on Feb. 3 starting at 11 a.m. There will be an auction at 1 p.m.

Chitterlin’ and  pulled pork plates will be sold for $10 each.





TRUE BELIEVERS

 MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH

 In 2016, Rev. Lavoid Kelly and a few God-fearing followers began a church plant at the 12220 Road 571, Philadelphia location formally known night spot "The Shack" which latter became a recreational center and home to the Stallo Blues Shows.  

In 2018, they are going to dedicate God's name to this building, perpetually.

MT. ENON M.B. CHURCH REVIVAL

The Mt. Enon M.B. Church in the Dixon community will be hosting a renewing revival January 22-24, at 7 p.m. nightly.

ServSafe Food

Protection Manager

 Certification

 The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification course is good for food service and childcare employees.

The Mississippi Food Code requires that each licensed establishment have one certified food safety manager employed full-time. Because food impacts everyone, the need for training and safe food preparation is increasing.

The Mississippi State University Extension –Neshoba County will offer the ServSafe course Jan. 31 from  8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the coliseum’s multi-purpose room. ServSafe requires a 7th edition manual. The certification exam will be administered at 3 p.m. on the day of the training.

To enroll in this course, participants must register no later than Jan. 10  in the county Extension office, 12000 Highway 15 north, Suite 2 inside the coliseum.
