A teenager out on a $40,000 bond on aggravated assault charges was arrested last week and charged with nine counts of burglary in connection with a rash of thefts in the historic district and around the Country Club.

Damiyune Kentrell Hoskins, 17, of 412 Barham St., along with three other juveniles, were charged in connection with burglaries at residences along Carla and Terri drives and Knight Street in Country Club Estates and on Holland and Poplar avenues and east Myrtle Street.

The incidents mostly involved vehicle burglaries.

Chief of Police Grant Myers said Hoskins was charged as an adult with aggravated assault in July.

“We also charged him as an adult with the burglaries,” he said.

Hoskins was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly shooting at a vehicle on Railroad Avenue on July 26. A grand jury indicted him in January.

Three others teenagers and an adult were also charged in that shooting incident.
