Larry Martin, 76, of Florence, Miss., died Sunday at Hospice Ministries.

The service will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence on Friday, March 2 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m.

There will also be a visitation on Thursday, March 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in the Garden of Memories.

Mr. Martin was born, August 8, 1941, to Claudie and Margie (Copeland) Martin in Philadelphia, Miss.

He was a graduate of Neshoba Central and East Central Community College.

After graduating, he then served in the Army National Guard.

During these years, he met and married Peggy Marie Anderson of Philadelphia, Miss., and were married for 54 years until his passing.

Mr. Martin worked and retired from Entergy in 2005 with over 40 years of service. He coached in the Forest Hill Youth Club for many years.

He was also a member of  Baptist Church in Florence.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claudie and Margie Martin and sister, Sherlon Martin Stubblefield.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Martin; brother, Don Martin; sons, Scott Martin and Steve Martin;  seven grandchildren  and two great-grandchildren.
