Margaret Ann Copeland Ricks went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 4, 2014. She was 76 years old. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through several months of failing health.
Margaret was born on July 14, 1937, in Philadelphia. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Possessing a true servant's heart, Margaret devotedly cared for family and friends through delicious cooking and baking from scratch. A woman of faith and the heart of the Ricks family, Margaret provided a tireless Christian example. She enjoyed vegetable gardening with her husband and sharing their bounty with friends and family. She also lovingly froze and canned fruits and vegetables and preserves each year.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 58 years, Carl P. Ricks. They raised their two dear children, Paula A. Ricks and Ronald P. Ricks in Jackson but moved to Madison three years ago. She was an active member, and loved attending church and Sunday school, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison. She was previously a faithful member of Raymond Road Baptist Church and Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jackson. Through the years Margaret worked as a secretary, most recently with State of Mississippi Rehabilitation Services, but retired early to spend lots of time with her much loved and adored Granddaughter, Brandi F. Ricks of Madison.

Ricks; Mother-in-Law and Father-in-Law, Henry Beeman Ricks and Lavada Lang Ricks of Louisville, MS; Brothers-in-Law and Sisters-in-Law, J. Clarence Ricks; Herbert B. and Ludie Stoval Ricks; Arthur E. and Jewel Ricks, and Hazel Ricks Luke.
