The Choctaw Central Lady Warrior fast-pitch softball team remained undefeated in Region 5-3A play as they took two district wins last week.

The Lady Warriors defeated Raleigh 9-6 and Forest 15-0 in region action. They played two games in the Neshoba Central tournament on Saturday, losing 6-4 to East Webster and 6-0 to Neshoba Central.

Choctaw Central entered the week with a 5-0 region record and 10-5 overall. They were to host Southeast Lauderdale on Tuesday and play at Philadelphia on Thursday.

"We are playing well right now," Coach Aaron Terrell said. "We have five more region games to play and we need to win every one of them."

The Lady Warriors came up with a big fifth inning to take the win over the Lady Lions.

Choctaw Central scored one in the first, three in the second, four in the fifth and one in the sixth. Raleigh answered with five in the fifth and one in the seventh.

Betty Mingo was the winning pitcher. She finished with five strikeouts.

Darien Tubby and LaChrisha Williams both hit two singles to lead the Lady Warriors while Mingo added a double.

It was Choctaw Central all the way as the Lady Warriors scored five in the first, nine in the second and one in the third.

Malaina Grasshopper was the winning pitcher. Mingo hit a double and a single while Jada Sockey and Tiara Joe both added two singles.

East Webster 6

East Webster took the early lead and held on to win.

Jasmine Hickman was the losing pitcher. Brooklyn Bell hit two singles while Mingo hit a triple and Sockey hit a double.

Neshoba Central 6

The Lady Warriors could plate a run in this game.

Joe hit two singles while Mingo and Sockey both hit singles.
