With the state playoffs nearing, the Neshoba Central Lady Rockets continued their "one game at a time" approach as they rolled up another three wins.

Neshoba Central carried a 23-2 record into their final game of the regular season Tuesday. They were to take on Germantown with the Region 3-5A championship on the line. Germantown had defeated the Lady Rockets earlier this season and Neshoba Central had to win its Tuesday meeting for four runs or more to win the district championship.

If they win the region, the Lady Rockets would get a first round bye. If they don't, they will be playing Thursday in a play-in series.

"We'll just see how it goes," said Neshoba Central Coach Trae Embry who led the Lady Rockets to last year's fast-pitch Class 5A state championship. "We are playing well. We are in the playoffs. We'll be ready where ever we land."

Last week, Neshoba Central defeated Newton County 7-6 and Petal 8-1. On Monday night, they defeated Northeast Lauderdale 12-1.
