The Neshoba Central power lifting team will be competing in the North State meet Friday.

The Rockets have seven lifters qualified out of the 12 categories. The meet will be held at Lafayette County.

The state meet will be held April 14 at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.

Recently, Neshoba Central placed second in the region meet which was held at Holmes County Center. Germantown won the region.

Neshoba Central had seven lifters to qualify for the North State. Those lifters and their weight category are as follows: Zach McLain, 275 pounds; Jamarion Tuss, 114 pounds; Jordan Spears, 132 pounds; Cadarrius Roberts, 165 pounds; Christian Spears, 198 pounds; Colin Hunt, 220 pounds; and, Russ Thompson, 308 pounds.

Earlier in the year, Neshoba Central won the Forest Invitational.

Union’s powerlifting team finished second overall in the Class 2A meet which was held last month in Calhoun City. The Yellowjackets have nine lifters going to state.
