Both Choctaw Central soccer teams defeated the Math School twice last week as the Warriors wrapped up their region schedule.

The Choctaw Central won their Tuesday home game with the Owls 3-1, and came back on the road Friday to defeat the Owls 5-1. The Choctaw Central boys came into the week with an 11-2 overall record and 6-0 mark in district play.

The Choctaw Central girls won their first game with the Math School 3-1, and took the second game 8-0. The Lady Warriors are undefeated so far with a 13-0 record.

Choctaw Central is scheduled to visit Kosciusko on Thursday. The state playoffs start next week, either on Monday or Tuesday. Both Choctaw Central teams will open the playoffs at home.

Scoring for the Warriors were Braden Bell-Ben, Graviel Velasco and Dregan Denson.

Scorers in the second game were Velasco, Jaeden Bell, JB John and Alex Ben. A Math School player knocked in one of the Warriors’ goals.


Lady Warriors

Scorers for the Lady Warriors in their first game with the Math School were Christy Lewis, Jayna Ben and Jayna Thomas.

Lewis scored three goals for the Lady Warriors in the second game. Sierra Wallace and Jaiden Thomas scored two goals while Jayna Thomas added one goal.
