The Philadelphia Tornadoes will wrap up region soccer play Thursday when they visit Winona.

Last week, the Tornadoes picked up two wins as they knocked off Winona 3-2 and Pelahatchie 1-0. The Tornadoes have qualified for the state playoffs which start February 5. They come into the week with a 6-8-1 overall record and 3-2 in district.

In the Winona game, Parker Wood scored one goal off an assist by Connor Long. Mark Hunt, and Jon David Collins scored as well. Tucker Abel had eight saves at goalie. Those also credited with saves were Raedarius Triplett with two, Connor Long one and Jariq Stribling one save.

Mark Hunt scored Philadelphia’s only goal against Pelahatchie, assisted by Parker Wood. Raedarius Triplett  and Tucker Abel both had three saves while Jariq Stribling and Connor Long both had one apiece.

The Philadelphia girls dropped a 5-0 decision to Winona. Jasmen Young had seven saves at goalie. Maliah Black had two saves while Sunshine Spivey had 1. No shots were taken.

The Philadelphia girls lost 6-0 to Pelahatchie. Jasmen Young and Sarah Frazier both had four saves; Maliah Black three saves, Sunshine Spivey two, Cayla Ferris two.

The Philadelphia girls stand at 2-12 overall and 0-5 in district.
