Choctaw Central and Neshoba Central both swept their district opponents in prep soccer action last week.

The Warrior teams won a pair over Philadelphia. The Choctaw Central girls defeated the Lady Tornadoes 6-0 while the Choctaw Central boys won their match 8-1.

Neshoba Central took two games from Canton High School. The Lady Rockets recorded a solid 12-0 win while the Neshoba Central boys claimed a 4-1 victory.


Choctaw Central vs. Philadelphia

The Warriors improved to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in the district.

Scoring for the Warriors were Keyon Roach, Jaeden Bell, Andrew Sockey, Rayden Sockey, Graviel Velasco, Isaiah Billie, JB John and Dregan Denson. Armando Lopez was the winning goalie.

The Lady Warriors improved to 10-0 with their win. Scoring for the Lady Warriors were Jayna Ben with three goals, and Crystal Routh, Madison Wilson and Tara Willis with one goal each.

Choctaw Central’s Tuesday game with the Math School was postponed because of weather. They were to visit Winona on Friday.


Neshoba Central vs. Canton

The Rocket teams picked up an important region victory against Canton.

Rose Coats, Macy Fanning and Casea Cheatham all led the Lady Rockets with two goals each. Hailey Burrage, Mara Shelton, Abby Seale, Alexus Latham, Mason Daniels and Neylie Breazeale all scored one goal. Makaylin Alex was credited with three assists while Shelton, Abby Cumberland and Breazeale all had two assists.

The Rockets scored two goals in the first half and two in the second half.

Jake Wilborn led the way with two goals and an assist. Ethan Dulay and Joseph Breazeale both scored one goal. Caleb Bradley and Owen Horn both had an assist.

The Rockets host Cleveland Central on Friday.
