Neshoba Central pitcher Aspen Wesley continued to mow down opposing batters as she fanned 43 in four games last week in fast-pitch softball action.

The Lady Rockets entered the week with a 6-0 record. They opened the week with 5-0 win over Houston. Then in the Oxford tournament, the Lady Rockets beat Desoto Central 2-0, North Pontotoc 3-0 and Booneville 7-3.

Wesley started three of the four games, and picked up a save in the fourth. She has 66 strike outs so far this season.

The Lady Rockets have three games scheduled this week. They were to host Choctaw Central on Tuesday. This Saturday, they will compete in the Battle of Batesville tournament, taking on Desoto Central and Southaven.

The Lady Rockets banged out eight hits in their win over Houston.

The Lady Rockets scored one in the first and four in the second inning.

Alex Bowen hit a triple. Tenly Grisham had two hits while Rivers Gray hit a single and knocked in three runs. Mackenzie Barnett, Destiny Dill and Wesley all hit a single.

Wesley pitched a no-hitter, striking out 16.

The Lady Rockets scored one in the first and one in the fourth to take the victory.

Madalyn Thompson hit a double while Kylee Thompson and Wesley both hit singles.

In five innings pitched, Wesley struck out eight, gave up one walk and two hits.

North Pontotoc 0

Wesley struck out 15 and allowed one hit in the Lady Rockets’ win over North Pontotoc.

Neshoba Central scored three in the second.

Gray hit a triple and a double to pace the Lady Rockets. Grisham hit two singles and knocked in a run. Bowen hit a single.

Booneville 3

The Lady Rockets put together 11 hits in their win over Booneville.

Neshoba Central scored one in the first, two in the third, one in the fourth and three in the fifth. Booneville scored four in the fourth.

Sindle Williams hit a triple and a single. Kylee Thompson, Gray, Tori Henderson and Madalyn Thompson all hit a double. Tenly Grisham had two hits. Bowen and Wesley both hit a single.

Alexus Latham started the game and pitched 4.1 innings to pick up the win. Wesley pitched the final 1 2/3 innings and earned a save. She had four strike outs.
