Neese indicted in double murder
By DEBBIE BURT MYERS
Managing Editor

A Philadelphia man could stand trial as early as March after a grand jury indicted him last week on two counts of murder in connection with the November shooting deaths of two teen-agers.

Paul Neese, 46, of 10160 Road 365, was indicted for the murders of Lakenrick "Keon" Boyd and Jamal Cheaswan Peebles, both 16.

He remains in the Neshoba County jail without bond.

The teen-agers were found in the living room of the mobile home, one on a couch, and the other on a mattress.

Both had been shot one time in the head while they were apparently sleeping, said Chief of Police Dickie Sistrunk.

Neese was taken into custody shortly after 6 a.m., when investigators recovered a .30 caliber revolver believed to be the murder weapon.

The grand jury, which reconvened on Jan. 2, handed down 34 indictments after considering 39 cases and hearing testimony from 64 witnesses.

One case was remanded to a lower court for further proceedings and four were continued for further investigation.

Indictments processed at press time included:

• Milton Chapman, 22, of 596 Jack Warner Road, Louisville, pleaded not guilty to business burglary.

• Martha Jane Hall, 31, of 6284 Highway 80, Morton, pleaded not guilty to fleeing a law officer in a motor vehicle.

• Manuel Van King, 34, of Rt. 1, Box 334, Conehatta, pleaded not guilty to felony escape.

• Eddie Lamont Shelton, 34, of Little Rock, Ark., taking away a motor vehicle.

• John Damon Snow, 32, of 13280 Road 832, pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine.

• Curtis Glenn Spivey, 22, of 405 Austin St., pleaded not guilty to possession of cocaine.

• Claude Lane Jim, 61, of 482 Conehatta Lake Road, Conehatta, pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, third or subsequent offense.
