Country Music star Marty Stuart will return home next week with his wife, Connie Smith, to headline entertainment during the 60th annual Choctaw Indian Fair which begins next Wednesday, July 8.
Smith will take the stage at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, performing such hits as "Once a Day" and "How Great Thou Art."
Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives will follow at 8:30 p.m. Stuart will sing such well-known songs such as "Hillbilly Rock" and "Tempted."
The fair officially opens on Wednesday, July 8 at 7 p.m., when patrons will see Choctaw traditions and culture at its finest during the annual Choctaw Indian Princess Pageant as contestants vie for the highly-coveted title.
Josh Gracin and Clay Walker take center stage on July 10.
Gracin, a finalist on the second season of "American Idol," has captivated country music lovers everywhere with hits such as "Nothing to Lose" and "Stay With Me (Brass Bed)."
Gracin will perform at 7 p.m. followed by Walker at 8:30 p.m. He will have the audience singing along to favorites such as "What's It to You", "Live Until I Die", and "Rumor has It."
On Saturday, July 11, at 7 p.m., native American singer-songwriter Jana Mashonee, takes the stage. The Lumbee Indian Grammy-nominated entertainer has attracted the spotlight with her new upbeat rhythm and blues flavor album and others such as her concept album, American Indian Story.
Also on Saturday at 8:30 p.m., there will be a special presentation of Disney's High School Musical: Summer Celebration! featuring favorite songs from all three hit High School Musical movies, including "We're All In This Together," "Fabulous," and "Now or Never."
Kids will sing and dance along to more than 15 chart-topping songs with a cast of performers as your favorite East High characters! This non-stop celebration will have audiences rocking the house with Wildcat spirit, organizers said.
Family night is set for Tuesday, July 7, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
That one night features local gospel talents at the dance ground, stickball games and reduced carnival ride rates.
Fairgoers can enjoy four fun-filled days of Choctaw culture and spirit including Tribal arts, crafts, dances, foods, and the thrilling action of World Championship stickball.
The fair offers fun for young and old alike, from exhilarating rides and contests to top musical entertainers. There's something for everyone at the Choctaw Indian Fair, officials said.
Tickets for all acts and other fair activities excluding carnival rides are: $15 for adult season passes, $10 for adult day passes, $10 for student season passes and $5 for student day passes. Children five and under get in free.
