Area residents will have an opportunity to attend an open casting session here on Friday for a chance to appear in "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde," an independent film to be shot in part here.
The movie stars Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers.
Independent filmmaker Tonya S. Holly said the casting for "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" will be from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Cypress Moon Studios in Eastgate Shopping Center.
The film will also star Thora Birch, Taryn Manning, Rance Howard, Michael Madsen and Cloris Leachman, among others.
Scenes for the film will be shot in downtown Philadelphia, including the Arts Council Theater.
Plans also call for scenes to be shot at a vacant store off Mississippi 16 east; near a barn in the Shady Grove community as well as at Sciple's Mill and on a nearby dirt road in Kemper County.
Burnside Lake Park has also been cited for a possible scene.
Other parts of the film will
be shot in Louisiana, Alabama and Natchez.
Those interested in a part in the film must be over the age of 10. Participants should bring resumes including contact details and a photo to the casting session.
For a minimal charge, Cypress Moon will have an area for people to have Polaroid photos taken during Friday's session if they do not have one.
Sessions for speaking roles will be announced in the near future.
Many of the people who attend the open casting sessions will be asked to return for the opportunity to try out for a speaking role, Holly said.
People unable to attend should mail their resumes and photos to the main office of Cypress Moon Studios; ATTN: The Story of Bonnie and Clyde Casting, 1000 Alabama Avenue, Sheffield, AL 35660.
Holly wrote and will direct The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, a new adaptation (not a remake) of the classic love story which tells the thrilling story of the notorious fugitives. Taking place during the 1930's Depression, the film follows the adventures of Bonnie and Clyde, uncovering many times in their lives that have never before been seen on the big screen.
