Teacher indicted in rape of student

A former teacher at Union High School was indicted on two counts of sexual battery of a student by a Neshoba County grand jury.
The grand jury handed down 49 other indictments when its session ended earlier this month with many people faces multiple indictments.
Emily Nicole Chancelor, 28, of 4490 Highway 492, Conehatta, was indicted for two counts of sexual battery of a students under the age of 18.
According to the indictment, the alleged incidents occurred in Neshoba County on or about Sept. 5, 2007 through Oct. 31, 2008 as part of a continuing series of acts connected together.
Sheriff's Investigator Kevin Baysinger said the alleged incidents occurred off a dirt road near a feedmill close to Union.
"His mother and father brought the student up here after the mother found text messages between them on his phone and started asking questions," Baysinger said.
Chancelor was asked to resign from the school district, he said.

• Bradley James Savell, 29, of 10887 Road 2610, possession of controlled substance in a correctional facility.
• Dijon Seales, 18, of 105 St. Francis Dr., possession of cocaine while in possession of firearms.
• Ross Avery Amos, 20, of 202 Homer St., and Bobby C. Boler, 17, of 391 Jericho St., burglary of a dwelling house.
• Norman Bufkin, 43, of 314 Ivy St., burglary of a motor vehicle.
• John Anthony Clemons, 28, of 417 Coleman Ave., sale of cocaine.
• Fredrick Roman Hickman, 47, of 298 Bogue Chitto Circle, driving under the influence of alcohol, third or subsequent offense.
• Tony Rennette Harrington, 28, of 385 Jericho St., burglary of a dwelling house.
• Jamie Monroe Bozeman, 28, of 11130 Weyerhaeuser Road, two counts credit card fraud. He was indicted as a habitual offender.
• Shonyada Quaroris Owens, 24, of 5936 White Stone Road, Jackson, kidnapping; burglary of a dwelling house.
• Shawn Michael Evanuk, 37, of 314 A Ivy St., driving under the influence of alcohol, third or subsequent offense.

He was indicted as a second drug offender.
