A father and son were among five people arrested Friday by state and local officers just outside the Stallo community in Winston County, ending a months-long drug investigation, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director Marshall Fisher said.
A Philadelphia man was among those arrested.
A search warrant served by MBN agents, Neshoba County and Winston County sheriff's deputies led to the arrest of John Barry Hatcher, 54, of Noxapater on a manufacture of methamphetamine charge.
Officers also arrested Hatcher's son, Samuel Dubard Hatcher, 18, of Noxapater on a conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine charge.
Others charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine include the elder Hatcher's girlfriend, Kristie Flowers, 35, of Noxapater; Charlie Dempsey, 38, of Ackerman; and Joshua Henley, 19, of Philadelphia, Fisher said
In conjunction with the arrests, agents seized a methamphetamine lab as well as nine firearms from John Hatcher, who, as a convicted felon, is prohibited from owning a firearm.
Neshoba County Sheriff Donnie Adkins said a large portion of the drugs being manufactured at the house were being brought into Neshoba County.
"This was something we all had been working on for a while trying to get the right information at the right time to do something with it," he said.
The Hatcher house is located near the Neshoba and Winston County line, he said.
