Grand jury returns 37 indictments

A grand jury has indicted a man on two counts of aggravated assault in connection with a March 4 shooting at a gathering place on Atkins Street commonly known as "Curlee's."

The man, Jardeius Sintel Peebles, 27, of 274 Lewis Ave., is expected to stand trial on charges that he shot Chris Trotter of Philadelphia during a confrontation at "Curlee's" where a heated argument between he and Peebles occurred.

The bullet exited Trotter's back and grazed Cindi Moore but did not make entry into her body, the authorities said.

The shooting occurred about 3 a.m.

The grand jury, which convened on April 30, returned 37 indictments, according to its final report issued the following day.

Among the other indictments processed at press time:

• Daniel Glen Day, 32, of 10540 Road 541, burglary of a dwelling place.

• Linda R. Hudson, address not available, two counts of uttering counterfeit instruments.

• Grady W. Langdon, 66, of 10673 Road 234, Union, two counts of sexual battery.

• Milton Prince, 51, of 261 Hendrix St., driving under the influence of alcohol, third or subsequent offense.

• Julian McMillan, no address available, business burglary.

• Tonya Leigh Wheeler, 33, of 10486 Highway 482, uttering forgery.

• Kathy Madison, 44, of 59 Copeland Dr., Preston, four counts of uttering forgery. She was indicted as a habitual offender.

• Perry Carter, 21, of 316 Beech St., burglary of a dwelling place.

• Jeffery D. Waddell, 38, of 10531 Road 125, burglary of a dwelling place.

• Jimmie Trussell, 57, of 518 Ivy St., driving under the influence of alcohol, third or subsequent offense.

• Corderro Seales, 18, of 562 Center Ave., Apt. 2, aggravated assault.

• Robert Lee Dobson, 45, of 507 Ivy St., uttering forgery. In a second indictment, Dobson was charged with five counts of uttering forgery.

• Elinor E. Hurtt, 70, f 213 Muley Dr., Decatur, sale of alprazolam.

• Deana K. Ryan, 46, of 100 Hardy Ave., possession of cocaine.

• DeShawn James Smith, 20, of 16302 Road 632, burglary of a dwelling house.

• Joshua Fox, 1000 Sistrunk Ave., Apt, 12, taking away a motor vehicle.

• Christopher Lavon Davis, 27, of 1004 Donald St., possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana. In a second indictment, he was charged with sale of cocaine.

• David Dwayne Lawrence, 49, of 5485 Attala Road 5001, possession of methamphetamine.

• John Robert Jones, 28, of 611 Christine St., armed robbery.

• Brandon Deshonta Miller, 20, of 715 Ryles South Road, possession of cocaine.

• Brandyn Jade Crocker, 21, of 10041 Road 371, aggravated assault. In a second indictment she was charged with simple assault on a law officer.

• Reggie Andre Carter, 28, of 524 Pleasant Valley Dr., aggravated assault.

• Randall D. Page, 44, P. O. Box 155, Sebastopol, driving under the influence of alcohol, third or subsequent offense.

• Jerry Wesley Pilgrim, 38, of 631 Main St., possession of methamphetamine.
