Arts Council to present ‘Tarzan the Musical’

The Ellis Theater is set to undergo a jungle transformation and be taken over by around 55 gorillas for the Philadelphia-Neshoba County Arts Council presentation of Disney’s musical “Tarzan.” 

Catch the captivating performances on Thursday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m., Friday, March 1 at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m., and Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m.

In this tale, an infant boy washed ashore in West Africa is adopted and raised by gorillas who name him Tarzan. His encounter with Jane, a young naturalist, blossoms into love, unaware that Jane's entourage is plotting against the gorillas.

Guiding the productions are co-directors Kinsey Goldman and Tim Moore. 

The talented cast will feature Caleb Bradley as Tarzan, Haley McFarland as Jane, Lane Fulton as Terk, Valerie Ballard as Kala, Craig Stevens as Kerchak, Curt Pace as Porter, Jackson Lovorn as Clayton, Johnna Carter Ballard as Young Tarzan, Cooper Callahan as Young Terk, Shot Stribling as Snipes, Ian Madison as Father, Kara Spears as Mother, and Kaylee Fryery as The Leopard.

From the Academy Award-winning “You'll Be in My Heart,” to the thrilling “Son of Man” and “Two Worlds,” “Tarzan” promises a high-flying, unforgettable theatrical experience.
