Choctaw Central players receive postseason honors
Following one of the best seasons in program history, the Choctaw Central football program had 17 players that received postseason honors within the region.
“This year our team was truly blessed with one of the best seasons in recent memory,” Choctaw Central Head Coach Ed Routh said. “The individual effort and hard work of our student athletes was recently recognized by the coaches of the entire district.”
Keyshawn Ben was the star this season for Choctaw Central, doing a little bit of everything for this Warriors team and putting together a phenomenal senior season. He was deservingly named the Region 4-4A MVP.
Leading the way for Ben was offensive lineman Slater Jim, who was dominant up front and was named the Offensive Lineman MVP for Region 4-4A.
Kicker Christian Davis was as reliable as a kicker could be this year for Choctaw Central and was awarded for his efforts, being named the Kicker MVP for Region 4-4A.
Wide receiver Cruz Wilson, defensive lineman Izayah Wilson, linebacker Kaegan Henry, and defensive back Tyris Stokes were named to the Region 4-4A Super 22 team.
Linebacker Malaki Morris, linebacker Taijon Dixon, offensive lineman Damien Wickson, defensive lineman Christian Weeks, and quarterback Kooper Wesley were named to the Region 4-4A first team.
Linebacker Brodie Lilly, running back Tyreke Ben, linebacker Kethan Anderson, offensive lineman Adarius Lewis, and offensive lineman Aaden Amos were named to the Region 4-4A second team.
Choctaw Central finished the season with a 6-4 record and third in Region 4-4A. This was a major turnaround after a winless season in 2023 and this year was the first winning season for the Choctaw Central football program since 2010 and shows major progress and plenty to be excited about going forward for the future of the program.
