Clemons running for mayor so far

With the start of a new year, the city is preparing for municipal elections to select a Mayor and Board of Aldermen during the upcoming general election in June.

Two candidates have qualified for the municipal elections so far.

Leroy Clemons is running for mayor as a Democrat, while Cody Pilgrim is running for Ward 1 alderman as a Republican.

Ward 1 Alderman Justin Clearman has announced he will not seek re-election.

The deadline to qualify for a municipal seat is Jan. 31 at 5 p.m.

The primary election is April 1, with a runoff scheduled for April 22 if needed. The general election will take place on June 3.

Serving since 2021, are: Mayor James A. Young, Alderman-at-Large Carson Waltman, Ward 1 Alderman Justin Clearman, Ward 2 Alderman Jim Fulton, Ward 3 Alderman James Tatum, and Ward 4 Alderman Shaun Seales.
