Community cheers as Neshoba softball heads to State Championship
The Neshoba Central softball team paraded around town on the way to Hattiesburg on Tuesday morning, before game one of their MHSAA 6A state championship series against George County.
The Lady Rockets have been on a roll in the state tournament, going 6-2 and knocking off Center Hill, Grenada, and South Panola en route to the championship series, following a region title in the regular season.
Neshoba Central will play George County in the 6A championship series, with game one set for Monday at 2:15 PM. Game two will be Wednesday at 1:15 PM, and game three, if necessary, will either be Friday or Saturday depending on the results of other classifications.
All games will be played at the Southern Miss Softball Complex throughout the week. Neshoba Central will be the home team in game one and the road team in game two.
