A fire at a shopping center has left two businesses including Canal Place Cinema 7 closed since early February.

Philadelphia Fire Chief Deric Horne said the source of a fire at the Medical Store at Canal Place on Highway 15 reported in the early morning hours of Saturday, Feb. 10 remains under investigation.

Firefighters arrived at The Medical Store at 3:52 a.m. and were on the scene until about 6:45 a.m., Horne said.

Reports say the fire was contained to the Medical Store although the Canal Place 7 theater received “significant smoke damage,” Horne said.

As of Tuesday, both businesses remained closed.

No injuries were reported, Horne said.
