The fourth graders at Neshoba Central Elementary School were thrilled to meet Jaquez Hunter, a former Rocket football player who now attends Auburn University, where he is a member of the Auburn Tigers. The kids lined the hallway to slap hands with him. Several vowed never to wash that hand again!
Hunter occasionally visits Neshoba Central when he is home, and the children are always excited to see him and have pictures taken! He is a great supporter of his alma mater, who donates needed supplies. Such acts of kindness display this young man's character and provide a positive role model for the students. Thank you so much!

Neshoba Central Elementary School donated 1,857 cans of food to PECO to transport to the hurricane victims in North Carolina. Thank you to the students and their families for their generous donations. This is a great example of teaching moral values to this age group.

The musical “Annie” had a fabulous opening night last Thursday evening at the Ellis. The PNC sponsored the production. The cast was composed of local people. Several who had performed in plays previously returned to the stage for this production.
Among these veterans was Rozann Richardson Fulton, who said that she had been in a lot of shows but couldn't remember such a great opening. The audience was engaged, and some of her favorite people showed up in the audience.
In addition, her three daughters and son were on stage with her during the play at different times! That had not happened before. She was not recognizable in her wardrobe, makeup, bright red lipstick, and black wig. Rozann did not resemble their mother at all! It was an entertaining evening for the entire community. Thank you to all of those who made this play possible!

Lyla LaRue Rhodes was introduced to her great-grandmother, Shirley Cox, recently at her home. To the baby’s delight, Shirley’s daughter, Carla Cox Martin, introduced them. Lyla is Carla's granddaughter.
It was Shirley's birthday last week, and pictures of all her great-grandchildren who were old enough, singing Happy Birthday to “MeMe.” The babies had a "Happy Birthday" MeMe sign propped up beside her. It was such a sweet idea!
