New evidence has been uncovered in the case of a man missing since 2019, the authorities said.

Following a day-long search of a property on Donald Avenue last week, Police Chief Eric Lyons said his office had uncovered new evidence in the case.

Lyons said the search was related to the case of 50-year-old Santo Short of Philadelphia.

“The case is currently still under investigation and we will continue to work this missing person case as well as all other cold cases,” Lyons said.

Philadelphia Police served a search warrant at 1004 North Donald Avenue on Wednesday, July 31, after new information was received during an ongoing missing persons case investigation. Lyons said the search lasted from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“Some evidence was collected in the case, but no body or human remains were recovered during this search,” Lyons said.

Lyons said the information investigators found has led to further interviews with people who may know what happened to Short.

Lyons said Short was last seen being dropped off at a house on Loper Street on Thanksgiving of 2019 and was reported missing in early December.

Anyone with information about Short’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department at (601) 656-2131 or East Mississippi Crime Stoppers at (855) 485-TIPS.
