Man faces attempted murder charges in Sunday shooting

Philadelphia Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting reported Sunday at a Pecan Avenue convenience store.

 

Allen Easley, 33, 2085 Highway 397, Preston, faces charges of attempted murder.

 

“The case is still under investigation,” a Philadelphia Police social media post said.

 

The incident was reported at 1:22 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, when the Philadelphia Police Department responded to Spaceway at 1251 Pecan Ave. in regards to shots fired.

 

When officers arrived they were met by the shooter, identified as Easley. Easley was taken into custody without further incident.

 

The victim has been identified as Maraqueous Woods who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to the Neshoba General Hospital by a relative before he was later airlifted to Jackson for further treatment of his injuries.

 

Det. Bobby Pattillo said Woods was later released from the hospital and the motive for the shooting is under investigation.
