Warrant issued for man violating Drug Court terms
A DeKalb man remains at large and is believed to be hiding out in Kemper County as part of a trio of individuals wanted for unrelated drug court violations.
Warrants for violating the terms of Drug Court were issued for Javaskic Brown, Bridgett Jade Crapps and Steven Kirkland on Nov. 19.
Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said his office was able to arrest Crapps on Nov. 20, and Kirkland turned himself in on Sunday.
Of the three, Brown, 29, 5409 Hopewell Road, DeKalb, remains at large. Clark said Brown is believed to be in Kemper County and is wanted for failure to report in for Drug Court.
Clark said Brown also owes the county more than $4,000 in fines, roughly $2,908 of which are related to Drug Court.
Brown was sent to Drug Court after he pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and felon in possession of a firearm in November 2022, according to Clark.
Clark said anyone with information regarding Brown’s whereabouts is encouraged to call East Mississippi Crime Stoppers.
“If your anonymous information leads to an arrest,” Clark said. “You will receive a cash reward.”
Clark said the drug court warrants were issued for all three individuals on Nov. 19. All three were wanted for failure to report in for drug court.
Crapps, 36, 11551 Road 418, Union, was arrested the next day and charged with possession of a controlled substance and a drug court violation.
NCSO deputies encountered Crapps when a tip led them to the Road 418 address. Clark said this residence belonged to a relative of Crapps and noted she was staying in a room their along with Megan Irene Morris.
Deputies arrived at the residence around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Clark said they found Morris’s Jeep Cherokee parked behind the residence.
Upon making contact with the homeowner, Clark said a deputy caught Crapps attempting to flee out the back door with no shoes on.
Crapps was arrested and while attempting to retrieve her shoes, deputies found Morris and a small dog in a room. Clark said the room had personal items of both Crapps and Morris including mail addressed to them. Deputies also found a plastic wrapper on the bedside table had shards of a clear crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
According to Clark, Morris, 33, 11551 Road 418, Union, was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Steven Kirkland, 56, 10861 Road 751, turned himself in to the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, Clark said.
Both Crapps and Kirkland individually owe drug court $2,955.50 in fees and fines.
