William “Bill” S. Slayton

A graveside memorial service for Mr. William “Bill” S. Slayton will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 5, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Slayton, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at G. V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born and reared in AL, worked as an Electrician and lived in LA, and moved to Philadelphia, MS in 2012. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and his hobbies were golfing, shooting pool but he enjoyed all sports. 

Preceded in death by his wife, Jean Slayton; parents, Oscar Miller Slayton, Gretchen Beene Slayton; son, Dale Slayton; sisters, Katherine Foss, Frankie Thompson; brothers, Dow “Bud” Slayton. 

Survivors include his care giver, Monica Slayton; daughter, Pam De St. Germain; son, Scott Slayton (Amanda); brother, Wade Slayton (Jackie); (7) grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
