Ellis gets additional $500,000 from state
As part of the final state budget approval Tuesday night, the Marty Stuart Museum will get $500,000 to complete the Ellis.
HB 1353 in the final report of the Conference Committee includes this item:
“To assist the Marty Stuart Congress of Country Music Museum in paying the costs associated with the completion of the Ellis Theatre $500,000.”
Legislators created a new Local Improvement Projects Fund with $201,500,000 this year and the Ellis funding is part of that.
In addition:
• $150,000 for the Sheriff’s Department for motor vehicles.
• $1 million for county transition to MSWIN system.
• $250,000 for hospital ambulance service.
"Thank you to our local legislators for the much-needed help with patrol vehicles," Sheriff Eric Clark said in a Facebook post. "This along with the 3 the Board of Supervisors approved will get the Sheriff’s Office out of critical need of patrol units."
