Johnson named Merit Finalist, STAR Student

Jackson Johnson, a senior at Union High School, has been named a National Merit Finalist. 

This prestigious distinction stems from his outstanding performance on the PSAT during his junior year. Achieving National Merit Finalist status is a very distinguished national honor, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jackson Johnson. 

He is the son of Jay Dee and Tracy Johnson, and plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi next year. 

Johnson has also been named Union High School's STAR Student for the 2023-2024 school year by the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program. Jackson selected Mrs. Mandy Feasel, his English teacher, as his STAR Teacher. Mrs. Feasel has been selected as STAR teacher twelve times. Mrs. Feasel teaches English and Art at Union High School and is married to Jamie Feasel of Union.
