Trailer burns down over the weekend

No foul play is suspected in a trailer fire in the Linwood community over the weekend, Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said.

Clark said the fire was reported at a residence on County Road 2418, a dead-end off of Road 325, on Sunday, Dec. 31, at 8:24 p.m.

Linwood and Fairview volunteer fire departments responded to the scene, which was just half a mile from the Linwood station.

The fire, which is believed to have started in the kitchen near the stove, took about an hour to bring under control.

Clark said his deputies and EMS responded to the call as well. No injuries were reported although the structure was ruled a total loss.
